Department: CSR & Branch Operations
Reports to: Branch Manager or Customer Relations Officer
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves primarily external customers; however, responsibilities also include serving internal customers whenever the opportunity presents itself.
This position does not involve direct day to day supervision of employees.
Confidentiality of customer information cannot be overstated. It is expected that all customer information be kept in the strictest confidence. We must do whatever it takes to ensure that our relationships with the public are not jeopardized.
This position is the main “point of contact” for the majority of customers in their day-to-day transactions generally associated with banking. These transactions may include deposits, withdrawals, balance or statement inquiries, loan payments, and card transactions, among others. In addition to the handling of such transactions in an efficient and tactful manner, it is expected that CSRs demonstrate genuine interest and helpfulness in identifying product and services that will be the most beneficial to each customer. This includes keeping informed of product and service offerings, recognizing situations that suggest a need for additional or different products and services, and taking proactive steps to explain these to our customers or referring them to someone who is better informed and can give a more detailed explanation.

- Accept and process deposits of all types to established accounts
- Cash checks (within the limits set forth by management), pay withdrawals from savings accounts, and redeem savings bonds
- Ensure adequate identification and proper and full recourse on all items accepted
- Receive payments on Checking Reserve Accounts, Loans, Safe Deposit Boxes, and various other accounts
- Process mail deposits
- Issue money orders and cashier’s checks
- Issue cash advances, buy and sell Canadian currency, accept coin requests, accept check reorders, make address changes, and process new enrollments for bank products and services
- Recognize opportunities to cross-sell products and services offered through FNBB
- Balance cash drawer
- Alert the supervisor to any unusual situations which should come to the attention of all the CSRs or management
- Become well versed with the Bank Secrecy Act and Reg CC, and follow all procedures adopted by management
- Attend required staff meetings
- Follow security procedures
- Support a diverse and inclusive culture
- Abide by all policies, procedures, and expectations set forth in the Employee Manual or requested by management
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Previous customer service experience and cash handling experience are preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Manual dexterity for repetitive use of computers, calculators, telephones, and counting currency
- Stand for long periods of time
- Lift up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis
- Primary work environment for this position is that of a typical office setting
- Scheduled between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm, Monday through Friday; however, hours will vary by location
- 8:00am – 12:00pm every other Saturday
- This position is not eligible for hybrid work
- Location may change by need between all three branches and will be scheduled accordingly
- It is expected that work be completed, therefore additional hours may be required in order to accomplish certain tasks
- Time cards are required and any time over 40 hours will be paid at the rate of time-and-one-half
The compensation range for this position is: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour. This range reflects the base compensation for this position. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
