Dunn Brothers Coffee – The featured artist at Dunn Bros will be Kierlyn Ward. Ward uses acrylic and watercolor paints in her artwork, as well as occasionally including metallic leafing. Her paintings have a whimsical feel inspired by trees, plants, flowers or feminine hair. The Dunn Bros exhibit will be a watercolor set of various hair styles in a pseudo-mosaic fashion. Dunn Bros is open 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. and is located at 501 Paul Bunyan Dr SE.
Neilson Place continues their exhibit featuring the photography of Bob Panther. View the work from 8 am – 8 pm. Neilson Place is located on the Sanford WoodsEdge campus, 1000 Anne Street NW.

Gallery North – Stop by Gallery North’s First Friday open house on June 7th from 2-6 pm and visit with Showcase Artist Hailey Kelly. Kelly is an acrylic painter from this area. Featured Artist is Gallery North member Elaine Netland, a fine art painter of many talents. Gallery North is a non-profit cooperative art gallery that has been displaying and selling original art and fine crafts by area artists since 1989. Wild Hare Bistro and Coffeehouse – Wild Hare Bistro & Coffeehouse will present the work of Jamie Lee through the month of June. Writer, speaker, and teacher Jamie Lee creates still life and illustrative art out of pebbles! Join Wild Hare for the opening reception on First Friday, June 7th, from 3 – 5 pm. Wild Hare is located at 523 Minnesota Ave.
Headwaters Music & Arts will host a reception for the participants of Great River Rescue’s Art Contest, My Dream Shelter, from 4-5 p.m. on June 7. The contest, a fundraiser for Great River Rescue’s upcoming renovations, was open to K-12 children living in the Greater Bemidji Area. Students were asked to submit 2-D art on 8 ½” x 11” or 10” x 12” surface in any media. Submissions were judged based on appearance and demonstration of the theme by a jury of local artists, including: Sarah Stewart, local art teacher; Trish Barthorpe, local photographer; and Diamond Knispel, Marketing & Arts Program Coordinator at Headwaters Music & Arts. The June 7 reception will celebrate the First Place and Honorable Mention Winners of the contest. One winner from each grade will be awarded a prize bag and the opportunity to choose the name of a Great River Rescue dog or cat while Honorable Mention Winners will receive certificates. First place winners will have their art on display at Headwaters Music & Arts for the month of June. Snacks and games will be provided courtesy of Great River Rescue. The event will be followed by Headwaters Open-Mic CoffeeHouse at 7 p.m.
NWICDC – Northwest Indian Community Development Center will be partaking in the First Friday Art Walk on June 7th from 3-7 p.m. with a vendor market of approximately 12 artists. This month, they will also have two singers that will be playing for your listening enjoyment. Colleen Wells will perform on her keyboard from 5:00-5:45 and Mauro Gonzalo Gutierrez will play guitar and sing from 6:00 to 6:45. Soup and frybread will be served. NWICDC is located at 1819 Bemidji Ave N.
Watermark Art Center - On Friday, June 7, Watermark Art Center will hold two opening receptions from 5 – 7 p.m. during the First Friday Art Walk. Come celebrate the opening of the Members Show, featuring multi-media work by Watermark members. During the Members Show reception will be a drawing for a $300 Art Purchase Coupon. All Watermark members will be automatically entered into the drawing; the coupon can be used to purchase a piece of art from any artist that is also a Watermark member. The second reception features the opening of the Middle School Exhibit, sponsored by First National Bank Bemidji. Come see work by Bemidji Middle School students in 6-8th grade and cast your vote for “People’s Choice Award” during the reception! Watermark is located at 505 Bemidji Ave N.
