Kayla Winkler Named Chamber Board Chair
Bemidji, MN – December 2, 2021–Kayla Winkler, Community Relations of Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota, accepted the gavel and charge of the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce as Chair of the Board of Directors.
Winkler re-joined the Board of Directors in 2019 and has been a very active member with several councils, committees, and programs, including being heavily involved in Dragon Boat Festival, Marketing, Advocacy Committees, and Innkeepers Association.
Winkler brings her talents to the organization with a vast network of colleagues and business connections, expertise on community initiatives and issues, experience serving community boards, hospitality industry knowledge, and passion for helping the Bemidji business community succeed.
Winkler has worked for Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota for three years. She resides in Bemidji with her husband Bill, owner of Top Shelf Hockey, and together they have three children. The year ahead for the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce begins with strategically aligning the Chamber to serve the members best. “We are encouraged and excited to grow the Chamber in membership and innovation. The Bemidji community is fortunate to have many forward-thinking business leaders. As a Board, we are focused on providing the right connections, resources, and opportunities to help our business community grow.
We are looking forward to new possibilities and many exciting initiatives in the coming year.” said Winkler.
In addition to new Chair Kayla Winkler, the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce Board named Tracy Pogue of Kraus Anderson - Vice Chair, Jordan Anderson, Ultima Bank- Finance Director, Bruce Bentfield of First National Bank- At Large seat for the 2021-2022 year.
The existing board of directors includes Dana Lee of AmericInn, Chad Harding of Hampton Inn, John Svingen of Insure Forward, Corey Stittsworth of Counselor Realty and Kev Jackson of Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Brad Olson of Boy Scouts of America, Carissa Menefee of Bemidji State University, and Amanda Sande of Paul Bunyan Communications, Kay Mack, retired Individual Member, and Leon Merck of Lueken’s Village Foods.
Board members rotating off the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were Cindy Todavich from Todavich Electric, who served as Treasurer, and Dave Smith of MJB Home Center.
