Join the Behavioral Health nursing team working in the clinic setting. You will have set, predictable hours and a work environment that embraces diversity, creative problem solving, and growing as a person and in the nursing field. This position works specifically in the Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) program, helping patients struggling with substance use disorder. The team supporting you in the work you do will include psychiatry, outpatient substance used disorder programming, and mental health crisis services.
Behavioral health takes a harm reduction, whole person care approach and sees the benefit of working in integration with other programs. There is fast paced but rewarding work to be done here. Typical workday activities would include rooming patients, observing urine drug screens, administration of medications, prepping orders, giving injections, assisting patients with getting connected with other services and referrals, maintaining supplies, coordinating with lab and occasional patient physicals.
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents a thorough medical history from patient. Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered. Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Counseling patients and family members, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans. The LPN demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting.
Must have graduated from a school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred.
Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility.
Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice.
