DESCRIPTION:CoffeeHouse June Press Release\n\n \n\nHeadwaters Open-mic CoffeeHouse is pleased to announce musician Mike Naylor as host on Friday\, June 7 from 7 to 10 pm at Headwaters Music and Arts in Bemidji. Sign-up begins at 6:30.\n\n \n\nNaylor\, pastor of the Debs/Puposky Lutheran Church\, purchased his first guitar at age 12. Fifty years later he was inducted into the North Dakota Music Hall of Fame for his work in the 1960's with the Fargo based Pawnbrokers. His musicianship extends to the keyboard\, harmonica\, and low brass\, and has provided opportunities to play in bands in Ethiopia\, Italy\, and Greece as well as in Alaska and Minnesota.\n\n \n\nHeld on the first Friday of most months\, Headwaters Open-mic CoffeeHouse features music and spoken word performance in a family friendly environment. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Performers and audience alike appreciate the friendly tone and reasonable fee\, $3/person or $7/family. Coffeehouse fare is available.\n\n \n\nNaylor first attended the open-mic last September at the invitation of the host. "It was fun\," Naylor said\, "so I have been back every month since. The CoffeeHouse provides a wonderful venue for anyone to share their music and writing. The audience and artists are most encouraging."\n\n \n\nThe CoffeeHouse takes a two-month hiatus after June.
