Description
The word ‘privilege’ has become controversial. For some it empowers while for others it evokes guilt. What does it mean to have white privilege? How do you recognize it? How can one move past white guilt? This workshop will discuss the fundamentals of identity, power and privilege and, specifically, how society is set up to benefit those who are white. Objectives: - Understand where the idea of “whiteness” comes from - Identify one’s own privilege - Understand how privilege is embedded into society
