Description
In the largest joint project ever launched by the world’s science centers and museums, Headwaters Science Center will join 300+ other institutions and hundreds of thousands of people to celebrate International Science Center & Science Museum Day (ISCSMD) on Saturday, November 10. ISCSMD is an annual event established in 2016 by UNESCO to commemorate the World Science Day for Peace and Development. To celebrate this day, on November 10th, we will allow all visitors to enter the museum floor for free. Hours are 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. It’s also a great time to purchase or renew a Headwaters Science Center membership and support many more years of hands-on and fun science experiences and education. This year’s theme for “International Science Center and Science Museum Day” is “Science, a Human Right.” Science is a human right because: Everybody has the right to science. Freedom of research is essential for the advancement of science. Sound policies are informed by science. Gender equality in science is a need and a right. Discrimination cannot be tolerated in the pursuit of academic careers. You have the right to share your scientific findings. Youth empowerment is achieved through science education. Equal opportunities in science are essential. For additional information, please check our website, www.HSCbemidji.org, Facebook page (@HeadwatersScienceCtr) or give us a call (218-444-4472).
