Date: February 12, 2020 - April 15, 2020
Bemidji State University business and accounting students are offering free federal and state tax preparation and eFiling as a part of the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. The VITA program offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Students who have completed BSU’s Tax I course and passed IRS certification tests will hold assistance sessions each week on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall, room 250. Sessions will be held up to and including April 15, with the exception of March 11 and 12, which fall during the university’s spring break, and April 1 and 2.
