Walk to Remember
Date: October 2, 2010
Time: 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Event Description
North Country Regional Hospital's 3rd Annual
Walk to Remember
In remembrance of all babies lost in early pregnancy, stillbirth, newborn death, and SIDS
We encourage anyone to come and walk for the steps your baby never got to take or to support those who have lost a child or children. The walk will conclude with a memorial service where each baby's name is read and a tree is planted in their memory. The memorial service is not just a remembrance but a celebration of each life, no matter how long or short. The walk is a wonderful way for parents to connect with other people who have lost a child. We encourage participants to create a poster or bring a photo for the memory wall to further remember the babies we hold in our hearts.
This event is free to the public. We strongly encourage participants to preregister, but it is not required. You must preregister to have your baby?s name included in the memorial booklet or to purchase a t-shirt. To obtain a registration form, go to www.nchs.com and click on the Walk to Remember link. You can also stop by the hospital and pick up a registration form at the east or west front desk or call (218) 333-5755 and we can fax or mail a form to you. Registration forms must be received by Monday, September 27.
We walk for the steps they will never take. We walk for the babies that touched our hearts, taught us compassion, and made a difference. We walk for our son, daughter, brother, sister, niece, nephew, cousin, or friend.
Proceeds from the walk will benefit the PETAL (Parents Embracing Time After Loss) program by providing mementos and support information to every parent that experiences a loss to remember their child by when they leave the hospital.
