American History 2012

Event Description
Don’t miss "American History," the final concert in the Bemidji Symphony Orchestra’s 2011-2012 season, featuring the Minnesota premier of Chris Brubeck’s new work for orchestra and narrator, “Roosevelt in Cowboy Land.” The piece tells the story of Theodore Roosevelt’s time in the badlands of North Dakota. Clay Jenkinson will narrate. Also featured on the program are composers and musical works heard in Roosevelt’s White House, including Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag, Saint-Saëns’ The Swan, David Popper’s Vito, and Virgil Thompson’s The Plow that Broke the Plains.
